Liyu Lake is the biggest inland lake in Hualien, and used to be a popular scenic spot in the 60s because Highway9 passes by it. Now, with convenient transportation, it is almost like a backyard garden for the people in Hualien. Activities like biking, are easily available, and the sceneries are diversified and poetic.
