Article by Wu-Ji Kang 　　Taroko National Park is located at the north section of Central Mountains. The altitude is from 100-meter flat land to more than 3700-meter high mountain crossing from subtropical zone, temperate zone and frigid zone climate, and is creating a diverse ecological environment. Zhon-Hen Highway, running through the east and west sides of the national park off the edge of Li-Wu River in Taroko from He-Huan Mountain to Nan-Tou, is the major road leading the people into the region. 　　High mountains and marble valley are the key characteristics. The well-known Taroko Valley’s most precious road sector is the 19-km road from   Taroko to Tian-Xian. Along the Zhon-Hen Highway going westward to Tian-Xian, tall mountain and deep valleys can be observed, especially the Swallow Hall, Nine Curve Cave, Jui-Li Escarpment, Bridge of Kindest Mother are worth stopping to watch. Taroko Tourist Info Center, Cheng-Chun Ci, Bulo Bay (Bulo Wan) and Green River (Lu-Shui) are also recommended. This journey is loved by majority of the public and can arrange half-day to one-day to visit. Walk path leads you to go deeper into the forest, and it is another great experience. The walk path will take you to Sha-Ka Dang, Cheng-Chun Ci, Green River, Nine Cure Cave, Bai-Yang, Plum Garden and Bamboo Village, Lotus Pond, Realization Booth, and Bulowan Circulating Hill. These can be arranged for different length of time. To experience the beauty of high mountains, Mt. He-Huan is the best choice. Departing from Taroko, via the Zhon-Hen Highway, and within just more than three hours you can feel the scenery because of different climates. No matter which season you go, you can feel different climates. Before going up to the mountains, it is advised to prepare sufficiently, especially some warm clothes and rain gear. Travel plan is better to prepare in advance, and two or more days of stay are more suitable. 　　Many memorable experiences can be gained from the national park.
