Hua-Dong Valley is located at the east side of Taiwan. It is the long and narrow river valley plane between Central Mountains and Coastal Mountains. The squeeze of the Euro-Asia Plate and the Philippines Oceanic Plate, the valley creates many different natural scenery. Two major rivers, the Hua-lien River and Shiu-Gu-Lun River, run through this valley and bring rich agricultural resources that in turn have given birth to multicultural residents.

Due to the difference in the landscape, Hua-lien County's valley region is divided into the plane in the north section and hills at the south. The division is Route No. 11 Taiwan Lane Jie.
  North section of valley

North section is the broadest area of the valley. The quietness and richness of farm life is clearly observed.

Because it is near by the Greater Hua-lien Urban Development Zone, north section has become the good place for cultural, leisure and travel after building many tourist spots, university and colleges.
