  Hua-Dong Valley is located at the east side of Taiwan. It is the long and narrow river valley plane between Central Mountains and Coastal Mountains. The squeeze of the Euro-Asia Plate and the Philippines Oceanic Plate, the valley creates many different natural scenery. Two major rivers, the Hua-lien River and Shiu-Gu-Lun River, run through this valley and bring rich agricultural resources that in turn have given birth to multicultural residents.

  Due to the difference in the landscape, Hua-lien County’s valley region is divided into the plane in the north section and hills at the south. The division is Route No. 11 Taiwan Lane Jie.
  South section of valley

  The south section of the valley has more diversity in the landscapes, including hot spring, waterfalls, forestry and etc. It also has abundant cultural resources, including the scenery left from the aboriginal cultures and exploration of the ancestors.
Heading south on the Route No. 9 to Fu-Yuan Village at the boundary of Rei-Sui Town, this is the starting point of south section of the valley. During the era of exploration, this old town was referred as “Guava Ville”. From Hua-Dong Highway's old route, entering Fu-Yuan Forest Amusement Park, you can observe the butterflies at the valley, take a forest bath, or enjoy a hot spring in the covered forest.

  Rei-Xiang Village, centered at the heart of Rei-Sui Town, has developed seven places for underground hot spring. Showering facilities have also installed in Rei-Sui Hot Spring and Red Leaf Hot Spring. The hot spring district is adjacent to the dairy cattle herding yard, which has developed into a professional resort place to taste the fresh milk.

  The Shiu-Gu-Lun riverside at the Rei-Sui Town's east district is the starting point for canoeing. Shiu-Gu-Lun River receives abundant of water during spring and summer seasons, when the climate is pleasant and most suitable for canoeing. Continuing southward to reach Dancing Crane (Wu-He) Flat Land to view the pretty tea town and see the most ancient old stone pole relics from the pre-historical period. Drop by different tea stores to sip the faint scent of Dancing Crane (Wu-He) Tea.
 
  Leaving Dancing Crane Flat Land to Yu-li Town, the east on Mt. Chi-Ke to view the Jing-Jian flowers spreading on the mountain. Going west and enter Zuo-Xi Town, along Le-le River to Nan-An Service Sation and Nan-An Falls. Winter is the best time for watching flowers, because bright yellow You-Cai flowers are blossoming from the south side of Yu-li Town to the field of Fu-li Town. Via Zhu-Tian Village, you can go to Sixty Stone Mountain and watch the flashing gold Jing-Jian flowers and overlook the scenery of south section Hua-Dong Valley.

  Going downhill to Luo-Shan Village, you can eat the healthy organic farm products and watch the Luo-Shan Falls and the special scenery mud volcano at the same time. The adjacent rice farm is the well-known “Fu-li Rice” farm. The service station, run by Fu-li Township, sells the Fu-li Rice that has parallel reputation as Qi-Shan Rice.
