Past culture back to live; experience the old-time market life in Hua-lien
Hua-lien City’s old railway was the historical section of the Hua-Dong railway through city center to seashore main station. After 1979 when the North Sector Railway had started service, the focus of transportation is transferred out of the old railway, which in turn lost its original functions. In the Old Railway Cultural and Commercial District, travelers can find interesting items easily on the busy Hua-lien market. From Da-Yu Street’s congee and snacks, pork chop noodle at the intersection of Zhon-Zheng Road and Zhon-Shan Road, or the shops like Jing-Chen Ice Vendor and San-Yeh Restaurant that are keeping to their own unique styles. Besides, in the vicinity of Saving (Jie Yue) Street and Guan-Fu Street, many unique shops have opened after the termination of old railway. This is indeed an area for exploration and classic taste.
