“Ma Tai An” is tree bean of Misacepo dialect. Benefited from the wetland beneath Mt. Ma Xi at Guang-Fu Town, the abundant mountain spring and spurting spring have grown the lotus farm. Under the planning of Agricultural Bureau of Hua-lien County, wooden walk path and 7.2-km bicycle path were established for traveler to watch lotus. Ecosystem Exhibition Hall was also founded. The local residents have opened leisure restaurant, residential accommodation and product center. Lotus watching tourist park is formed accordingly.
North wing of the park has four large lotus ponds, and the water is coming from Fo-Deng River. Every February the park management will maintain the ponds and grow lotus in order to see the blooming lotus in the summer. Lotus farm produces lotus beans and lotus roots, which will in turn provide the delicious “Lotus Meal” on the table. The lotus industry is demonstrating a good tourist resort place for traverls.
